TOM SACHS: NIKE’S NEWEST PROBLEM

Celebrity creators are causing brand serious problems.
First, adidas dropped Kanye, proceeded to lose $1.3 billion dollars, and now it’s Nike’s turn.
Because yesterday news came out that Tom Sachs (the creator behind the Nike GPS) is up to some weird stuff. Here’s why:
According to one of his former employees Tom Sachs allegedly…
Operates a toxic workplace. Regularly throws things at, shouts at, and verbally abuses his employees.
Has no boundaries. Openly discusses his “type” of women and makes sexual remarks toward females in his presence.
Runs his studio like a cult. Dresses his employees in matching uniforms, runs group workouts, and has strict rules for them to follow.
Has strange creative processes. Wears “formfitting” underwear while working around the studio.
Despite multiple former employees making some of these claims, Tom Sachs denies any of this has happened.
This is a very strange situation that could affect an 11-year partnership between Nike and Tom.
And Nike doesn’t have any problems dropping people… It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

TRAVIS SCOTT MOVES ON FROM THE AIR JORDAN 1

One last ride.
After 4 years and 6 releases, Travis Scott is rumored to drop his last Air Jordan 1 sneaker in collaboration with Nike next month.

A short trip down memory lane:
2019 We got the OG TS AJ1 High and the reverse AJ1 Low
2021 TS teamed up with Fragment to drop his AJ1 High and AJ1 Low
2022 Gave us the first AJ1 Low in family sizing
2023 There was the latest TS AJ1 in the black phantom colorway
Looking forward. Travis Scott’s upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low Olive is a Women’s sneaker that’ll drop in extended sizing.

The retail is $150 and the sneakers are expected to be available on SNKRS and select retailers sometime next month.
And after that, Travis Scott’s chokehold on the Air Jordan 1 is coming to an end.
