WHY FOOT LOCKER IS CLOSING ITS STORES
Foot Locker is about to âresetâ its company.
What does that mean? In short, theyâre planning to close over 400 stores. Let me explain whyâŚ
Yesterday, their CEO (Marry Dillon) introduced a 3-year roadmap nicknamed the âLace Upâ plan that is meant to do one thing.
Reestablish the brand and grow the business.
The "Lace Upâ plan was discussed at Foot Lockerâs investor day event. But wait. You donât have to read through it, I got you a quick breakdown.
Here are 3 big ideas for the plan:
1/ Close underperforming stores
Today, Foot Locker has ~1,300 stores located in malls across the USA.
By 2026, they expect to close 430 underperforming stores (25% of those being located in good malls and 50% in bad malls).
2/ Introduce new concept stores
Over 300 new Foot Locker concept stores will be built over the next few years. And there are 3 formats thatâll be usedâŚ
âCommunityâ stores with a focus on serious sneakerheads (largest)
âPower Storesâ brings casual shoppers an improved shopping experience
âHouse of Playâ stores made for children (smallest)
What makes these stores special? They wonât be inside malls.
Each of the new store formats will be built from the ground up with custom layouts.
3/ Expand offerings
By improving company banners (FL, Champs, Atmos, WSS, etc) and shopping experiences Foot Locker hopes to expand product offerings.
And this isnât just talk. Footlocker has already opened one of its âPowerâ Stores in Dallas.
The project has been relatively low-key, but it gives a good idea of whatâs to come in the next generation of Foot Lockers.

Joe Fresh Goods (JFG) is back.
And this time heâs showcasing his latest New Balance collaboration. The âBeneath The Surfaceâ pack.
Who is JFG? Heâs the guy that brought back New Balance before they were cool.
In his upcoming collection, there are two kicks with three colorways.
The New Balance 610 in orange and olive. Another New Balance 610 with orange and navy. And then an olive and camo New Balance Rainer.
We were supposed to get a first peak of this collection earlier, but a few weeks back JFG had this to say:

As of now, thereâs no news on when this collection will drop.
But I anticipate more details to drop soon. Because in the past, the first peaks drop right before the release of information gets posted.

CARHARTT AND NIKE SB?
Rumor on the street is Carhartt and Nike are teaming up to make an SB Dunk low.
I donât have any leaks, early information, or details on the drop yet. And you know what that means. Rumors are just rumors.
